My name is Bong Baylon. I’m a thought leader, speaker, coach, teacher, and trainer on the topic of leadership. I help people lead themselves and others better, so that they can experience a better life together with others. I’m passionate about leadership because I know leadership really matters.
Most people fail in leadership as well as in life and in relationships because they fail to lead themselves and others well. Companies and organizations fail because people inside of them — regardless whether they are formal leaders or not — fail to lead. Churches and ministries fail because of people who refuse to lead or cannot lead. Even whole countries can fail when they are led by people who cannot lead well. Many people suffer because they are surrounded or influenced by people who fail in leadership. The consequences are high. Replacing people who have failed to lead can be financially crippling. When leaders fail to lead, or do not lead well, a lot of people suffer.
Leadership development is not natural. You have to be intentional about it. Our natural tendency is to drift toward passivity when it comes to leadership. We couldn’t care less sometimes. But the truth is that we have to learn and practice leadership consistently in order to develop credibility. Credibility is the foundation of any kind of influence.
