After the forming stage, a small group goes through the adjustment period. This is when a lot of problems will suddenly appear. Members will start violating agreements. Boundaries may be broken. Emotions may flare up. In such situations, conflicts are bound to happen. I would like to share a simple process for resolving such conflicts. It’s called the PEACE process. It stands for five simple steps.

  1. P – Problem behavior
  2. E – Emotions involved
  3. A – Assessment of motives
  4. C – Confession and forgiveness
  5. E – Encouragement for the future
